“I wanted to reach out to you and tell you about a few things we experienced at the home during the time my Dad, John Buchanan, was living there. When My Father started to decline last year, it became evident that he would need to be placed in a home. I prayed he would go to the Avalon. I didn’t realize at the time what a huge blessing it was for him to have been able to get a bed right when he needed it!! Navigating through his days were difficult at times but the entire staff supported him and us with professionalism and care. My Dad was always safe, clean, fed, and happy. What more could I ask for? Towards the last week everyone made sure he was comfortable. He was treated with kindness and dignity in a way that exceeded my expectations. They met our needs as well to accommodate us being able to have time to say goodbye to him. It’s not easy to know what to do during a time like that where your emotions are running high, and the staff was there to make sure we felt we were keeping my Dad comfortable during his passing. I stayed with my Dad as long as I could during those days but when I went home to rest, I had confidence that he was being taken care of! I can assure you that those girls are doing an exceptional job. I particularly must mention Jen, Danielle, Shannon and Mari – they are ones that I feel uphold the highest standards for your facility. I had my Mother there, my beloved Uncle Tom and now my Father, I can’t say enough good things about your facility, so I felt the need to let you know I appreciate your staff for helping us during our difficult time. I feel a deep level of comfort knowing we had my Father at the right place where all of his needs were met.”
